TIRANA, Feb 7 /ATA/-by Maela Marini/ – Chairman of the Socialist Party’s parliamentary group Taulant Balla told reporters on Tuesday that the anti-government protests called by the main opposition Democratic Party were planned to be staged as part of the personal agenda of the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
The senior Socialist official said that anytime “Albania and the Albanian nation face important challenges, the ex-Prime Minister calls for protests.”
Balla referred to the latest decision of Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti said he accepts the EU proposal, backed by France and Germany, to normalise relations with Serbia.
“When Kosovo faces an issue and needs Albania’s attention, Albania should really place attention to Kosovo,” he stated.
Socialist MP suggested that “the protests called by Sali Berisha, either to paralyze the Assembly of Albania or other protests are purely part of the personal agenda of a man who cannot dictate Albania’s important agenda.”
