TIRANA, Feb 1 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ The Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, has reacted on Wednesday over the economic situation in the country.
In a post on social media, Tabaku said on Wednesday that the government, in the absence of economic alternatives, has decided to re-propose the law on sports betting.
“Today, the main threat for the safety of Albanian families is the economic situation, corruption and the emigration of the middle class. In the absence of an economic alternative and a development strategy, the minority government has decided to re-propose the law on sports betting. Few people know about the court cases on betting law; what I predicted came true, as the government took the small operators out of the market through the betting law to leave it in a few hands; favored a few big businesses with casino licenses, and the struggle of criminal groups to control the market got out of hand. All this comes at a time when we were expecting from the government to speak about the McGonigal scandal.
Tabaku went on saying that the government has introduced zero policies for the middle class and fiscal policies.
“We were expecting answers for the middle class, the citizens, the economy, and yet the alternative offered is a law for the minority and not the majority. This government has 0 policies to keep the middle class in the country, it works to support the oligarchs with concessions. This government has 0 fiscal policies for citizens because it is a minority government, it adopts customized laws. A government of the minority of Albanians that does not work for the citizens but for corruption and oligarchs,” she said. /j.p/sm/
