PRISTINA, Feb 1 /ATA/ The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, stated on Wednesday that Serbia cannot decide for Kosovo, when he was asked whether he sees the general elections as a kind of referendum for the Association.
He stated that a mono-ethnic Association in Kosovo of a multi-ethnic Constitution is unlikely.
“In 2022 the Self-Determination Movement held elections, in 2021 there were parliamentary elections and local elections. Serbia cannot decide for Kosovo. Soon we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the declaration of Independence and we are proud of the achievements, especially in the last two years. You saw yesterday that Transparency International showed that in the last two years, among 20 countries, we rank higher in terms of fighting corruption and the image. Therefore, we have expressed our position at length on the Association for municipalities with a Serbian majority. A mono-ethnic association in Kosovo with a multi-ethnic Constitution is not possible,” Kurti said, adding that Kosovo has the Association of Kosovo Communes.
Among other things, Prime Minister Kurti said that they cannot compensate Serbia for the lost war in 1999, but added that it should compensate Kosovo for the damage caused to both people and material goods.
He emphasized that there are many more Albanians in Serbia than Serbs in Kosovo, adding that if Serbia wants to have mono-ethnic elections, it better try it at home
