New agritourism business launched through ARDA support in Pogradec

TIRANA, Jan 23 /ATA/ – “Siar” is the newest latest guesthouse to open its doors to both local and international visitors in the village of Bucimas in the lake town of Pogradec as part of a series of agribusinesses being constantly launched across Albania through the assistance of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency (ARDA) and the EU-funded IPARD II Programme.

ARDA said on Monday that Poliksen, a 25-year-old man presented his guesthouse project and applied to benefit financial assistance from the ARDA’s support schemes  under the IPARD II Programme and was declared winner after successfully meeting all the criteria to develop his Siar guesthouse project.

The agritourism facility has already become an important destination for both local and foreign visitors throughout the year.

The new  guesthouse features 9 wooden rooms, a very attractive structure and relaxing landscape.

Agritourism has turned into a sector with potential for development, thanks to undiscovered resources in our country.

ARDA has signed more than 50 contracts in this sector, with growth of the family economy, employment and the development of rural tourism being a top priority.
