TIRANA, Jan 21 /ATA/- The Albanian Road Authority has updated on Saturday the information about the road situation, as the country has been swept by torrential rains and snow falls.
ARA reports in a post on social media that the snowfalls have also started in Qafë Plloçë-Kapshticë, Korçë-Ersekë, Libonik-Maliq, Zęblak-Dogana Goricë, Qafë Mali-Fierzë, Pukë Fushë Arrëz-Kukës where maintenance crews are using snow plows to guarantee smooth traffic.
On the Bogë-Theth axis in the area of the tunnels, avalanches continue to render difficult the circulation of vehicles and operations for clearing the snow from road segments.
ARA emphasizes that the contractors have sent in vehicles, equipment and workers on the ground to clear the snow and guarantee smooth traffic.
ARA calls on drivers to exercise caution in rainy weather, to be equipped with winter tires and chains when traveling to mountainous areas, to slow down and to adhere to the road signage and instructions of the Traffic Police.
