TIRANA, Jan 13 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Friday that in addition to the bonus of the Big Package that has started to be disbursed, pensioners will receive another bonus as part of the extraordinary tax on energy exporters.
“These days, all pensioners are receiving the Big Package bonus as promised, and we wish them to have the best and healthiest year, which has just started. Upon receiving the first installment of the extraordinary tax on energy exporters in April, we will plan another bonus for pensioners, so that the burden of war inflation for them continues to be eased as much as it gets,” Rama said.
The Prime Minister shared on social media a video featuring the testimony of a pensioner, who, in addition to the indexation of the pension and the year-end bonus, has already withdrawn the bonus of the Big Package.
The 65-year-old retiree, a military by profession, said that he retired 2 months ago, while for many years he served as a pilot in the Air Force.
“As a military, I have followed the international situation closely, especially the war in Ukraine. This war has wreaked havoc all over the world, including us. Each government takes its own measures. “Our government also took measures to help the needy and in general the entire population,” he said.
“I was lucky because I also benefited pension indexation, and the New Year’s bonus, and in January I received by mail the lump sum as part of the Big Package together with the monthly pension. These were one of the most significant measures taken by the government to offset the effect of the financial crisis that has hit the whole world,” he said.
