TIRANA, Jan 13 /ATA/ Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi, is in Rome for an official visit.

He met with his Italian counterpart, Matteo Piantedosi, with whom he reaffirmed once again the close cooperation that our two countries have in all areas, especially in the fight against crime and security issues.

“Only during the last two years, our police forces have been involved in 52 joint investigative teams, a record number if we compare it with other international partners,” said Çuçi.

He went on saying that a twinning agreement will be signed between the Security Academy in our country and the Italian police training academy.

Minister Çuçi stressed that this development is a very promising project to professionally increase our police force.

“We also discussed strengthening cooperation in the fight against organized crime, drug trafficking, smuggling and cyber security. I thanked him in particular for the continuous and unconditional support that Italy has given to Albania on the irreversible path of integration into the EU”, Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi said.
