Tabaku: I will always be part of problem-solving in DP

TIRANA, Jan  12  /ATA/ The Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku, in a media briefing after the meeting of the Conference of Parliamentary Group Chairmen, said that she requested the skipping of lengthy plenary sessions and that the Assembly does not convene whenever the government needs.

“Parliament must follow the rules, it should not turn into a government’s notary. I asked that lengthy sessions be avoided. It should convene to serve the work of the deputies rather than the government. We should not discuss the priorities of the government, but those of the parliament. I brought up the concern that there are a number of initiatives that are not discussed in the commissions, I asked that they are incorporated in the agenda of the parliamentary commissions,” said Tabaku.

She also spoke about the recent developments in the DP, with the expulsion of 4 deputies from the parliamentary group led by Alibeaj.

“I believe you have all followed me in my discussions. DP is going through a difficult time. I have stood up for a safe DP. No one has called me to a group meeting or no one has informed about the signatures being collected. I have only one goal; to make the DP a winning force. It is unacceptable today that the opposition is less reliable than the government. I will work for this day to day. I will work every day to have a main goal. There is a parliamentary group chairman who is doing his job to the best of his possibility. Further fragmentation does not help the DP,” Tabaku said.
