Peleshi talks with Armed Force missions abroad: Dignified side by side with NATO

TIRANA, December 30/ATA/ Defense Minister Niko Peleshi held an online conversation with all Albania representatives in missions abroad.

Accompanied by Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Arben Kingji, Minister Peleshi congratulated them for their contribution and work done during this very busy year for security and peace in the world.

Peleshi started the conversation with the Albanian mission in KFOR in Kosovo and took the opportunity to talk about the situation there.

“Recently, the tension has increased. You are part of KFOR, the NATO structure that guarantees security. All the phenomena that seek to create instability in the region are a derivative of what happened in February of the current year in Ukraine and continues to be one of the main concerns of the world today. This event put before us tasks, which we had not thought of in such a close time, regarding modernization, regarding investments in education, in increasing our presence in international missions, that is, in building a stronger Armed Force, more capable and more hopeful for all our compatriots in Albania, but also in the region, to guarantee peace and security in the Balkans and in the entire space of the NATO Alliance”, emphasized Minister Peleshi.

The minister spoke about a new dimension that the cooperation with NATO has taken, where he mentioned the strategic alliance with the USA, but also the cooperation with the EU, fully appreciating the contribution of our representatives in these important missions.

During the conversation, Peleshi also spoke about the objectives that the Ministry of Defense has for 2023.

“This is the year when we made a quantitative and qualitative change in the Armed Force reward. We have increased 30% salaries for all servicemen, from the soldier to the highest ranks. We shall realize the commitment and promise of the prime minister to have a continuous and annual growth until we reach the highest level in the region. Next year, we will increase the salary by another 7%”, said Minister Peleshi.

Congratulating the representatives who will spend the New Year in missions abroad, Minister Peleshi said that the coming year will also be better for security, as all allies have joined the side of peace./m.m/p.s./
