TIRANA, Dec 14 /ATA/ Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, attended on Thursday the “Labor Force and Future Challenges” conference, hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce.
Ibrahimaj said in her remarks that adequate industrial policies encourage the employee to do the best.
“Starting with businesses, of course the labor market, like any other market, is determined by demand and supply, determined by pay. A better pay will keep the employee more attached to the workplace. An industrial policy in terms of the labor market, a business strategy designed to retain employees is one of the solutions at the micro level,” said Ibrahimaj.
Among other things, Ibrahimaj emphasized that under-reporting of wages remains a challenge for our economy.
“We have managed to fight through our institutions, through our instruments, informality, i.e. the registration of employees. However, we have a long way to go when it comes to addressing gray informality, i.e. the real declaration of salaries,” added Ibrahimaj.
While the Head of the American Chamber of Commerce, Enio Jaço said that, despite the problems, the labor market shows stability and optimism
“The index has seen an improvement in its total from 2020 to 2021. At the same time, the same issues prevail for years,” emphasized Jaço.
The conference also touched on challenges to find a qualified workforce, a problem that according to experts is not only in Albania.
