TIRANA, Dec 5 /ATA/ The baby bonus went to the parents of more than 36,000 newborns this year.
The figure was announced on Monday morning by Prime Minister Edi Rama on social media.
The baby bonus is a new social policy that is being implemented by the government from 1 January 2019 and supports young families, regardless of socio-economic status.
The bonus is available for all children registered in Albania, regardless of whether they were born here or abroad.
Parents of newborn children withdraw the baby’s cheque at the maternity hospital where they are located, carrying out the immediate registration of the child, avoiding all the delays and paper work that happened before.
For the first child the bonus is 40,000 ALL, for the second child 80,000 ALL and for the third child or more 120,000 ALL.
