PM Rama: Kosovo won’t wait as long as it has been waiting for final international recognition

TIRANA, Nov 27 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama voiced his confidence that Kosovo’s final international recognition will happen sooner rather than later and the new state won’t have to wait as long as it has been waiting to date to secure international recognition and join every international body.

Addressing the joint parliament session of Kosovo and Albania, the government head stated “that never before have enjoyed such a position relative to foreigners, yet I don’t think that Albanians are now better in terms of the relations with each other.”

“Let’s turn our heads back to Kosovo not many years ago. I don’t think it would be fair for us to have an inner push and acknowledge that we all had imagined that Kosovo would be free, sovereign and its independence would have been final on Albania’s 110th independence anniversary,” he said.

The Premier noted that the rights of ethnic Albanians in other countries in the region have been more advanced and recognized than ever before.
