TIRANA, November 22/ATA/- Agriculture support scheme, especially the tax-free oil scheme, affected the increase in domestic grain production, the Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) reported on Tuesday.
According to INSTAT, grain imports marked a sharp decline in January-October 2022, compared to previous years.
In the 10-month period, Albania imported about 193 thousand tons of grains, compared to over 266 thousand tons in the same period last year, marking a decrease of 27.4%.
Subsidy schemes supported the domestic production increase, as well as the grain production amid fears of a global food crisis, due to Russian war against Ukraine.//a.i/
