Bad weather, Krifca: All pumping stations are under monitoring

TIRANA, November 20/ATA/ Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Frida Krifca said today that the Directorates of Irrigation and Drainage are monitoring all the pumping stations as the water level appears so far in normal quotas.

Krifca emphasized that, “While the meteorological situation continues to be rainy, with heavy rain showers and strong winds, the directorates are on standby and in constant communication with the relevant structures of Civil Emergencies, municipalities and Electricity Distribution Operator OSSHE”.

“The National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority, through four regional directorates, is in contact with farmers and recalls detailed recommendations on how they should be vigilant to take measures to protect the health and life of farm animals and agricultural products “, said Krifca.

Minister Krifca said that, “The risk of electrical discharges due to weather conditions requires special care in livestock herds located in pastures, while the high intensity of rainfall can cause flooding of agricultural lands or greenhouses”.

In the last 24 hours, our country has been engulfed by heavy rain, while it has caused problems in some areas in the north of the country.
