Mazniku: More social support for strata in need

TIRANA, November 7/ATA/ Deputy Mayor of Tirana Arbjan Mazniku stated today that social support for the strata in need will continue to increase in the coming months.

During his speech at the Committee for Legal Affairs and Public Administration, Mazniku stated that this will be done not only with the direct budget of the municipality, but also through cooperation with other public communities.

“Municipalities are taking measures having a special focus on social support. Given that the economic crisis and the increase in inflation have an impact on these social groups, the social support, at least in the municipality of Tirana will continue and increase. In the following months, we will see the possibility to help the strata in need even beyond 6%. This will be realized not only with our direct budget, but also by joining forces with public or religious communities, so that in this situation we can be closer to those families in need “, stated Mazniku.

On the other hand, he said that the soft loans program will continue next year, stressing that there is a joint program with the government on this matter.

“Regarding loans, we have a joint program with the government. The government has supported the main municipalities with a special program for soft loans. A few days ago, there were announced 486 winners, mostly young families, because the program is focused on young families. We have a second program that is financed from the municipal budget for this matter. We believe that it is a program that will continue next year with social support from the central government and the municipality, said Mazniku.

Mazniku stated that the budget for all municipalities for the current year is 17% higher than the previous year, marking an increase from year to year./k.s/j.p/r.e/p.s./
