TIRANA, Nov 7 /ATA/ The Parliamentary Committee for Economy and Finance approved on Monday in principle the Fiscal Package that will start implementation in 2023.
The 2023 Fiscal Package, according to the Ministry of Finance and Economy, aims to improve revenue management and align tax legislation with the European Union directives, as well as reflect some corrections to the current laws, according to IMF recommendations and discussions with parties of interest.
The changes to the law “On tax procedures” propose the tightening of measures for cases of underreporting employees, concealing salaries or social security contributions.
On the other hand, it proposes tougher penalties for failure to accompany goods with invoice, but this only for cases of large business.
The law “On Excise Duty” proposes unifying the excise duty on beer, for local and foreign producers, regardless of the amount of production.
The fiscal package has a general effect on budget revenues of about ALL 16.6 billion.
After the discussions in principle in the parliamentary committees, the 2023 draft budget as well as the Fiscal Package that accompanies it will be discussed on Wednesday in a plenary session, to be sent back to the parliamentary committees for deliberation item by item. /j.p/sm/
