TIRANA, Nov 5 /ATA/- The deputy head of the Democratic Party, Luciano Boçi, stated on Saturday that 870 million lek have been abused by Vau i Dejes municipality.
He said that “from September 2019, after the one-party elections in Vau Dejës Municipality until today, 870 million ALL have been embezzled by the municipality administration.
Deputy Head of the DP stated that the Municipality has transferred the cleanup service of the town to private operators, which has resulted in the cleaning machines, assets of the Vau Deja Municipality, going out of service.
“In result, the fuel that would be purchased to use these heavy tonnage machines had to be taken off the list of expenses. Another element that lays bare the embezzlement is the claim of the municipality of Vau i Dejes that it has cleaned and rehabilitated the drainage canals of the area,” he said, adding that nothing could be further from the truth.
He said that the total value of these interventions is 526 million ALL, financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Boçi called on the administration of this municipality, in particular, the Members of the Procurement Unit, Bid Evaluation Commissions, Monitoring and Public Contracts Consignment Commissions, to steer clear of any abuse of the taxes paid by the citizens of Vau i Dejes Municipality, as every complaint is being verified every day and the evidence are being taken to the investigative bodies, the Prosecutor’s Office and the SPAK.
