Moisiu: Rama’s address to PACE defended dignity of Albanians

TIRANA, Oct 28 /ATA/ Former President of the Republic Alfred Moisiu said on Friday that Prime Minister Edi Rama’s address to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg was uplifting and as such should have brought all the Albanians together.

In a televised interview, Moisiu said that he supported the Prime Minister’s addressed, despite the criticism ensued, because he defended the dignity of Albanians and stood out against the humiliation they have suffered as was the charge of organ trafficking.

“It is regrettable, I understand that the government should be criticized, but things should not be confused. There are things for which it should draw criticism, but there are certain things that should bring us together. This is a humiliation for the Albanian people, there are things for which we must come together. We should have agreed with him, because he defended the dignity of our country,” said Moisiu.
Moisiu said that “Albanians must protect their dignity, they must stand up for it even when it is denied to them.”
