TIRANA, Oct 17 /ATA/ The chairman of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, assured on Monday that the changes to the decriminalization law will be filed once the consultations are over.
In a media statement from the Presidency of the Assembly, Balla said that “SP has devoted a reasonable amount of time to consultations.”
“We took the necessary time to hold the consultations and the SP will file them. We hope that tomorrow we will have a meeting with the working group, but one thing is certain, the changes to the decriminalization law will be filed,” Balla said.
According to him, ” a great deal of work has been done so far. Under the law on political parties, in Albania one branded as associate of former state security cannot be the head of a political party. These proposals have been supported by the majority of Parliament of Albania,” he added.
He emphasized that even though they were previously vetted at the “Bezhani” and “Mezini” commissions, they should be reevaluated in the light of the new facts that have come out./m.m/sm/
