Fiscal Package 2023, reduced penalty for failure to submit annual income statement

TIRANA, October 15/ATA/ The Fiscal Package draft for 2023 that enters into force starting from January 1, envisages a reduction of the penalty for individuals who fail to submit on time the annual income statement.

According to the draft proposed by the Ministry of Finance and Economy, which is also being consulted with business, the fine is expected to be 3,000 ALL from the current 5,000 ALL.

Resident individuals, who realize taxable income in the territory of the Republic of Albania and abroad, submit the annual declaration of income to the central Tax Office.

Resident individuals are obliged to complete and submit the Individual Annual Income Statement, if they realize annual gross income from all sources (inside and outside the Republic of Albania), in the total amount of over 2,000,000 (two million) ALL.

If resident individuals realize annual gross income from all sources, inside and outside Albania, in the amount of less than 2 million ALL, they do not have the obligation to complete and submit the Individual Annual Income Statement.

This exception does not apply to individuals who are employed by more than one employer, despite the fact that their total annual gross income is below 2,000,000 (two million) ALL.

These individuals declare in their annual income statement, in a single amount, all income provided by employment, calculate the total amount of tax liability on wages, deduct, where applicable, the tax withheld by the employer and determine the amount of the tax liability they have to pay for the state budget. /j.p/p.s./
