TIRANA, September 27/ATA/ The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reported that the process to benefit subsidies from the wheat support scheme ended with a record number of applications on September 23.
The Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development said that about 7,470 farmers applied in the support scheme for subsidizing new wheat plantings.
The scheme was applied for the first time. There were available 500 million Lekë to farmers divided into 30 thousand Lekë per hectare.
The Agency said that starting from next week it will verify the compatibility of the application with the area planted with wheat, while it will apply penalties to farmers who lied in the application.
The disbursement of funds to all beneficiary farmers will be carried out by the end of December 2022. While the winning farmers must submit to the Agency, the seed invoice for the purchase of wheat seed and that of chemical fertilizers.
“The support scheme for planting wheat will be introduced as a new permanent subsidy measure next year”, said the Agency./p.s./
