TIRANA, September 22 /ATA/ As of October 1st, there will be doubled the economic assistance for women heads of families who have two children. Thanks to this decision 5,700 women will benefit. Also the payment of economic assistance will be doubled for the elderly who don’t have any old-age pension.
Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu said during a briefing after the government meeting that, “From October 1, we will double the amount of payment for economic assistance for families that have two children and are part of the economic assistance scheme, women heads of households that account for 5700 women heads of families with two children and who will benefit from the doubling of the economic payment. Regarding families with more than three children, we have doubled the economic measure starting from January 1 of the current year.”
Manastirliu also said that, “We have decided to double the payment of economic assistance for the elderly who are without old age pension and who are more than 65 years old. There are more than 5,300 elderly people who will benefit from the double-increase of the payment.
There are 64 thousand families that will benefit from the economic assistance package.
After the 10% increase in the payment of economic assistance in January 2022 there is its double-increase and tripling for certain categories, the mothers with many children, orphans, girls and women victims of violence and trafficking, etc.
The second package of Social Resistance enables the increase of the payment of economic benefit by 10% for all beneficiary families of the scheme; doubling of economic assistance for women heads of families with 2 children; doubling the economic assistance for lonely elderly people without old-age pension and without social pension.
The Social Resilience Package also supports about 90,000 people with disabilities and their caregivers with the 7.5% indexation of the monthly disability payment./k.s/j.p/p.s./
