TIRANA, Sept 11 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama remembered Sunday September 11 attacks, publishing photos of the US flag and the Memorial at the World Trade Center.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, 19 Al Qaeda’s Islamic terrorists abducted four passenger planes from Boston, New York and Washington and plowed into iconic buildings in the US.
The 2 iconic towers of New York collapsed, the Pentagon was severely damaged. About 3,000 people lost their lives during the attacks in New York, the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania. In Shanksville, Pennsylvania, the plane’s passengers managed to prevent the hijackers from hitting their target, forcing the plane to crash on a field.
World Trade Center Memorial was built on the site of the Twin Towers destroyed in New York on September 11, 2001. It includes two waterfall pools located right at the bases of the former twin towers. The names of the victims of the attacks (including the six who died in the 1993 World Trade Center attack) are engraved on the bronze plaques that line the parapets of both fountains.
