TIRANA, Sept 9 /ATA/-By I.Vata/ – The OSCE Presence in Albania affirmed its support to Albanian parliament and an ad hoc Committee on the Territorial Reform during the new legislative session.
The Deputy Head of Presence, Clarisse Pasztory pledged the OSCE continued technical assistance to territorial and administrative reforms at a meeting with the members and the co-chairwomen of the Committee, Anila Denaj and Dhurata Tyli, as well as with internal and external Experts.
She highlighted the importance of bringing local administrative processes closer to local communities.
“Decentralisation is about bringing governance, decision making and services closer to the people, measured not only in meters, but also in terms of efficiency,” she said.
The importance of organizing a broad public consultation regarding the territorial reform was also highlighted.
