TIRANA, Sept 9 /ATA/ – Albania will face no power cuts due to the energy crisis, while government has introduced a set of saving energy measures and anti-crisis package amid the rising electricity prices in the global stock markets.
The saving energy measures revealed a day ago include unchanged electricity price for the household and business consuming a limit of 800 kWh per month.
According to the data from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, 96 % of household consumers use less than 800 kWh, whereas only 4 % of them consume more than 800 kWh and account for 19 % of the monthly electricity consume in the country.
Imposing the 800 kWh limit and the new energy saving measures, due to be in place until December 2023, will save an estimated EUR 100 million for Albanians.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy said that 1% of the annual energy saving is valued at 3.34 billion lek or 28 million euros.
