TIRANA, September 2 /ATA/ At the “Open Balkans” summit held in Serbia, there was signed the agreement that guarantees the establishment of the Food Security Mechanism within the “Open Balkans” initiative.
In a post on social networks, Minister Frida Krifca said that together with the Ministers of Agriculture of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of North Macedonia, they signed the agreement for the removal of any blockage, ban or quantitative limitation on exports of essential agricultural products, including wheat, corn and other basic products between the three countries.
“Even if one of the countries decides to block agricultural exports for grains, they will still be open among our countries of the ‘Open Balkans'”, the minister underlined.
This agreement enables and guarantees high supply, predictability and security of the normal functioning of the market in Albania.
Minister Krifca emphasized that the support to farmers through the national scheme for the expansion of wheat production in the country and the provision of open and functional markets at this time of pressure on the global grain markets are the two parallel tracks to guarantee regular and uninterrupted food supply in the country. /k.s/j.p/r.e/p.s./
