Two projects from Albania selected in PriFest

TIRANA, August 23/ATA/ Two Albanian film projects have been selected in the “Best Pitch” competition at PriFest, the international film festival in Pristina. The National Film Center said that the selected projects are “The Swedish club” and “The skin of a dog”.

The first project, “The Swedish Club” is based on a story by Artan Minarolli, with a script by Aleksandar Manic and directed by Iris Elezi and Thomas Logoreci. While the second project, “Skin of a Dog”, has Spartak Pecan and Linda Fejzaj as screenwriters, directed by Redi Treni.

PriFest will start its 14th edition in September.

The 14th edition of PriFest continues the tradition of providing a unique opportunity for film projects that are in the pre-production stage. This opportunity comes within the framework of PriForum – Prishtina Film Forum, the regional platform of the film industry and the PriFest festival.

10 projects from the region will have the opportunity to compete for various awards, including the main one ‘Vanessa Redgrave Award for Best Pitch’.

Besnik Krapi, co-director of PriForum, said that this year the interest in participating in PriForum’s Best Pitch competition has been extremely high.

“10 projects have been selected, which I think have a great potential, to be shown as films in various festivals around the world in the future”, said Krapi.

Also, in this edition there will be 8 projects for Best Pitch from the Odesa Film Festival (Ukraine), within the cooperation of the Odesa and PriFest festivals. This is an initiative of the late director Vjosa Berisha and this edition is dedicated to her memory and it’s in honor of her. /j.p/r.e/p.s./
