TIRANA, August 23 /ATA/ On September 1, there opens the call for support from the National Scheme for new wheat planting. The amount of support will be 30,000 ALL per hectare.
For the third time within the year, farmers will receive direct support.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Frida Krifca announced in a meeting with farmers in Maliq, Korça, the next addition to the National Scheme budget within the year, this time for the wheat crop with another 1.2 billion ALL, of which 500 million ALL for wheat, bringing the total budget of direct support to farmers to almost 4 billion ALL.
The minister underlined that this support for the third time in a row has not happened before and that the focus of the Albanian government is the strengthening of local production in wheat culture.
The minister emphasized that two of the important conditions for applicants are the fiscalized receipt of the purchase of the seed to recognize the traceability of the product and the certification of the seed.
Krifca said that it has been requested by the collaborators in the EU, that in the next call of the IPARD program, the support for wheat culture should be included in investments, such as in agricultural mechanics, combine harvesters, or even in collection points for storing the product.
Beneficiaries for wheat will be both individual farmers and Agricultural Cooperation Associations, as well as natural or legal persons.
