TIRANA, Aug 18 /ATA/ In July there were 105 road accidents as opposed to 114 in corresponding month of 2021.
INSTAT published on Thursday the report on road accidents, according to which the number of road accidents decreased by 7.9%.
The number of deaths and injuries from road traffic crashes is 150 people as opposed to 175 in July 2021. Meanwhile, the number of fatalities from road accidents is 6 people as opposed to 13 people in July 2021.
Road accidents in 87.6% of cases occurred due to the driver’s behavior. The highest number of accidents in this period involved the 25-34 age group, accounting for 26.7% of the total number of accidents.
Accidents in this age group have decreased by 9.7%, compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the seven months of 2022, there were 686 road accidents as opposed to 785 accidents that occurred in the same period of the previous year.
