Gonxhja: New registration certificate unifies three documents into one

TIRANA, August 15 /ATA/ The new vehicle registration certificate issued during the last two months has replaced 3 documents.  The citizens are served at the regional directorates and find it easier at getting the new certificate at a lower price.

General Director of the Road Transport Service Blendi Gonxhja stated in a media interview that the new format unifies 3 documents into 1: the old registration certificate, the ownership certificate and the international vehicle certificate.

According to him, the new registration certificate costs 40% cheaper.

Gonxhja emphasized that the new registration certificate does not have an expire date, while it offers high-quality security elements, data codified according to the EU standards, year of production and first year of vehicle registration, code, personalization with punctuation and practicality.

“The new vehicle registration certificate is issued for new registrations or when the citizen updates the vehicle data, when the ownership changes, when the old certificate is lost or damaged and when the citizen wants to get the new certification by himself. There is no obligation for the holders of the old vehicle certificate to change it”, stated Gonxhja.

There are currently over 800,000 active vehicles throughout the country or 285 active vehicles per 1,000 inhabitants.

In one year, it is expected that about 160 thousand citizens will receive the new registration certificate./j.p/r.e/p.s./
