TIRANA, Aug 15 /ATA/ Construction, services, tourism and immovable properties have made the highest contribution to the expansion of economic activity in our country in the second quarter of this year.
According to data from the Bank of Albania, the expansion of economic activity in the manufacturing sector is reckoned at 5.5%, in the second quarter of 2022, this level is similar to that of the previous quarter (5.7%).
As in the previous quarter, the expansion of this sector was determined by “construction,” whose annual growth marked the level of 25.5%. The contribution of “construction” to GDP growth is estimated at around 1.95 percentage points.
On the other hand, industry and agriculture have had relatively slow growth rates of 1.4% and 0.1%, respectively.
The increase in added value of the services sector accelerated to 6.3%, from 4.0% in the previous quarter, becoming one of the main contributors to the acceleration of economic growth.
The main contribution to the expansion of this sector has come from the “Trade, transport, accommodation and food service” branch, where the sub-branch of “accommodation” stands out.
The positive progress of tourism in the country has contributed to the expansion of activity in this sub-sector. Also, the “real estate” branch continues to be a key factor in economic growth, just like in the previous quarters.
