TIRANA, Aug 6 /ATA/ The Director of Emergency Preparedness and Response at NACP, Robert Hysenllari, informed that during the last 24 hours, 25 wildfires have been reported in the country.
Speaking about the wildfire situation, Hysenllari said that 16 blazes have been put out, namely: in Bushat village, Vau-Dejës municipality, in Kucok village, Durrës municipality, in Karpen village, Shijak municipality, in Skuraj village, Kurbin municipality, in Rehovë village, Polican municipality, in Donofrosë village, Dimal municipality, in Moravë and Lapardha villages of Berat municipality, in Seman village, Fier municipality, in Dragot and Desiran villages of Belsh municipality, in Laknas village, Kamëz municipality, in Llaman village, Himarë municipality, in Salari village, Tepelenë municipality, in Bajkaj village, Delvinë municipality, in Gosë e Vogël village, Rrogozhinë municipality.
During the last 24 hours, 408 operational forces of the Fire Protection and Rescue Service, Armed Forces, municipal crews, police forces, employees of the Protected Areas Administration, forest service, volunteer forces and 37 fire engines were engaged in firefighting operations.
According to him, the fires are currently raging in: the municipality of Shkodër, in the place called “Zorgji Peak” in the village of Ndërlysaj, which has been raging on for several days, despite the prompt response of the Protected Areas Administration forces, the blaze has not been contained. Today, the operation is supported by 40 members of the Armed Forces.
In the municipality of Mat, in the village of German, where the firefighting operation involving the municipal forces, the protected areas, the firefighting forces, the forest rangers, the Armed Forces continues for several days, several large fires have been extinguished. The operation is ongoing.
“In the Municipality of Krujë, in the village of Zeze, a fire started in an area caved with bushes and thorns. Firefighters and the municipality crews are battling the flame. In the municipality of Kurbin, the fires in the village of Mali i Bardhë continue to spread due to the strong wind. The structures of the municipality and the fire brigade are battling the flame. In the municipality of Mirditë, the wildfire in the village of Bulshar continues to rage. The fire service and the municipal forces worked and extinguished several fires. The operation started in early in the morning,” Hysenllari said.
Hysenllari said that “in the Municipality of Mirditë, in the village of Valçe yesterday, an oak forest was engulfed by fire. The fire service, municipal employees and volunteers rushed to the spot. In the municipality of Himarë, Porto Palermo, a wildfire has broken out in an area covered with bushes. The fire brigade rushed to the spot and put the hotspot under control.
