TIRANA, Aug 1 /ATA/ The demand for the main consumer goods has led to an increase in customs clearance and customs revenues for the state budget.
The official figures show that the Customs Administration has recorded an all -time high revenue in one month approaching the figure of 20 billion ALL, the highest amount collected in the history of the Customs Administration in one month.
Operational data from the General Directorate of Customs show that in July 2022, revenue amounted to 19 billion and 625 million lek. Compared to the revised (increased) plan, about 775 million lek more have been collected, while compared to July 2021, about 2.5 billion lek more have been collected marking an increase of about 14.4%.
The increase is attributable to the improving performance of the customs administration in the service of business and citizens, the digitization of services and the increase in customs clearance of excise goods during July, mainly due to the record amount of cigarette consumption of 277 tons, coffee about 600 tons, beer about 12,250 thousand liters etc.
