TIRANA, August 1 /ATA/ Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu closely followed the vaccination process with ambulant units in the Bregu i Lumit area, from where she emphasized that the door-to-door vaccination campaign is continuing, so that to reach every citizen who finds it impossible to appear at the medical centres.
“The vaccination campaign continues, door-to-door for all those citizens who cannot go and have access at the medical centre, i.e. the health system. Thus, the health structures go to the citizens, to continue and help from COVID-19. There are 7 ambulant vaccination units throughout Albania with our teams. There are more than 150 health workers, our vaccinators, doctors, who are committed to making it possible to increase the vaccine coverage”, said Manastirliu.
Focusing on awareness and organization for the continuation of the vaccination process, Manastirliu informed that citizens can use the free toll-free number 0800 40 40 to make a request to be vaccinated through mobile units in the field.
“Now, it is very important the continuation of the vaccination campaign, the awareness of all citizens and also the organization of our forces in the field with these 7 ambulant vaccination units, which, combined also with the request of the citizens themselves through the green number 0800 40 40, to make it possible to go to the apartment for all those who are unable to come to our medical centres”, said Manastirliu.
Minister Manastirliu said that thanks to the contract that the Albanian government has concluded with the company “Pfizer”, the supply of anti-Covid vaccines will continue.
“Even in our vaccination centres, we continue with the intensification of vaccination, since we not only have doses of vaccines distributed throughout the health structures, but we expect, thanks to the contract that the Albanian government has signed with ‘Pfizer’, to get from September other vaccines. Over 3 million and 400 thousand doses of vaccine have arrived in Albania up to these moments. Over 2,900,000 doses of vaccines have been administered. But, of course we still need more to intensify and protect the lives of every citizen and of course those who are immune compromised, that is, those who have or suffer from chronic diseases, not to neglect the third dose and the fourth dose of the vaccine” , Manastirliu said./r.e/p.s./
