TIRANA, July 29 /ATA/ – By I.Vata/- The US ambassador Yuri Kim met on Friday Belinda Balluku to congratulate her on additional portfolio as Deputy PM.
In a posting on her Twitter account, the US ambassador Kim stressed that the meeting with Balluku focused on food and energy crisis caused by unjustified war in Ukraine as well as cooperation of the US with Albania in recent cybercrime.
“We look forward to strengthening cooperation on all fronts, including in response to challenges to food and energy security on a global scale caused by Russia’s unjustified war on Ukraine.
We also confirmed strong US cooperation regarding the recent cyberattack against Albania . US experts from various agencies are supporting Albania’s efforts to conduct thorough forensics; increase cybersecurity to protect the government and citizens; and prevent recurrence.
I underlined importance of more concrete steps to eradicate corruption, ensure officials act according to highest standards, and implement justice reform. As Biden has made clear, US views corruption as a national security threat and we will take action accordingly.
