TIRANA, July 5 /ATA/ Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Roland Kristo, told ATA that there are two calls in support of the fishing sector, one through budget funding and the other through funding from the EU.
“The first support is with funds from the state budget, the deadline was until the beginning of June and 55 fishermen have applied for a fund worth 3 million euros focused on investments in the infrastructure of fishing vessels, engines and repairs,” said Kristo, adding that the second support provided as part of the EU has met with high interest. The fund available is around 800,000 euros and 60 fishing vessels have applied for this call until yesterday. The second fund focuses on fishing nets, on-board electronics, refrigerators.
Kristo informed that, once the application evaluation process is over, the beneficiary fishermen will have the money credited in their account.
