TIRANA, June 27 /ATA/ Democratic Party spokeswoman Floriana Garo said today in a briefing that the fiscal amnesty law is not for the honest emigrants.
“This law automatically puts Albania, a very problematic country for money laundering, on the black list of these countries. Present-day Albania is already the main arena for money laundering in Europe. The latest data show that out of 3 billion Euros of properties bought by Albanians, only 1 billion are carried out through bank transactions, while 2 billion were paid in cash”, said Garo.
“According to this law, Edi Rama has decided that every Albanian citizen, resident in Albania or emigrant, who has earned money from work in the black, but not criminal money, can already declare it, paying a special tax ranging from 7 up to 10% “, said Garo.
“DP strongly condemns this fiscal amnesty as a criminal act that puts Albania on the black list for money laundering. Above all, this act drives Albanians even further away from the European Union,” Garo said./j.p/r.e/p.s./
