PM Rama calls for unequivocal support for Open Balkan initiative to materialize Berlin Process

TIRANA, June 23 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama said that during the EU-Western Balkan Summit on Thursday he had called for full and unequivocal support for the Open Balkans initiative,

Speaking at a joint press conference with the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and the Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovačevski following the EU-Western Balkan Summit, PM Rama said that “the Russian aggression on Ukraine is this was being granted a very generous unsolicited help from a NATO member, namely Bulgaria, to destabilize another NATO member country, North Macedonia and further incite discontent in a neighbourhood like ours, which is the weakest link in whole this situation.”

“Therefore, we won’t certainly be waiting for the Godot. This is what I have previously stated too. I feel sorry for some optimistic individuals who took the Twitter since yesterday, saying we will succeed,” Rama said.

“On our part we have been moving and we will keep moving to revive the spirit of Europe in our part, namely the Berlin Process and the Open Balkan is the initiative we have launched to make Berlin Process tangible on the ground,” PM Rama said.

“I called for full and unequivocal support for the Open Balkan, because they are divided on this initiative too, as if they will be living in the Balkans. They are also divided on what we are doing in our space. Europe is a nice place, nice people, nice pictures, nice words. But it would be nicer if they delivered. One day we will become nice members of the EU,” Rama said.
