TIRANA, June 22 /ATA/ -The sailing cruise ship Sea Cloud arrived at the port of the coastal city of Vlora, southern Albania, on Wednesday, Mayor Dritan Leli said posting images of the old cruise ship.
The 110-meter long luxurious cruise ship “Sea Cloud”, with four masts rigged with double top-sails, is visiting for the first time the port of Vlora.
“A historic ship sailing the waters throughout the world berthed at Vlora port today. As a unique experience not only for sailing, but also for its interior design, built through combination of the Baroque and neoclassical architecture, the unusual yacht that served the U.S. Army during World War II, landed its passengers in Vlora today, because the southern city is now on the map of the whole world,” Leli said.
Vlora is set to be one of the most popular destinations for both local and international visitors this summer tourist season.
Arrival of cruise ships is part of the Mediterranean agenda, with the city of Vlora being a special destination to be explored. Many leisure and tour agencies are involved in cruise ship tourism and their number is expected to grow in July and August.
