TIRANA, June 14 /ATA/ Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, has arrived in New York, where she will take part in the open debate of the UN Security Council entitled: “Delivering on the pledges: The role of Regional Organizations in implementation of Women, Peace and Security Agenda in the face of political unrest and the seizure of power,” according to sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The SC debate will be held on June 15, 2022, at 10:00 (New York local time). This is one of the significant activities under the Albanian chairmanship of the Security Council. The event will be attended by representatives of various international and regional organizations, including the EU, OSCE (Secretary-General), the African Union and the Arab League.
Whereas, on June 16, 2022 at 10:00 (New York local time) Minister Xhaçka will chair the meeting of the SC on the topic: Cooperation between the UN and international and regional organizations, with a focus on the EU. The guests include the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the Vice-President of the EU Commission, Joseph Borrell.
