Kumbaro: Let’s create a joint tourist map with Western Balkan countries

TIRANA, June 8 /ATA/ Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro spoke today at the meeting of the Ohrid “Open Balkan” summit for creation of a joint tourist map with the Balkan countries, so that to absorb a larger number of tourists from distant markets.

In her speech at the session on tourism in the framework summit, Minister Kumbaro said that, “If we were to talk about a re-branding of the Balkans removing the connotations left by the past, the “Open Balkan” is a good rebranding of the future to which we want to take the Balkans, a place where people can move around just like rivers and birds that do not need visas and waiting long hours from one embassy to another, but also a region that sees the future in European integration ”.

“This brand that has been under construction for some time is a good, new brand, but it probably finds the best metaphor in cooperation in tourism sector”.

Minister Kumbaro noted that, “In the last 3-4 years, we have 2-3 times more visitors from Serbia, with an increase of 110%; increase of visitors from North Macedonia, we have an increased number of visitors from Kosovo, I would very much like from Montenegro in the first place to get to know each other, but also to share our assets ”.

“The coast of Albania, if we refer to “The Guardian” for the 40 most beautiful beaches in the world, ranked the beaches of our country among these”, said Kumbaro./k.s/j.p/p.s./
