TIRANA, May 26 /ATA/ The Thumanë-Kashar road axis will be built by concession, while the works in all its lots are set to be completed within 36 months.
Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, stated on Thursday that the government has adopted in today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers the contract for the design, construction, maintenance, operation and transfer of the axis.
The contract previously signed under the PPP instrument was canceled after the funds were made available for the University Pact. We have returned to this contract. The state will not invest in the construction of this axis. This axis will be built on the principle of concession and the company will transfer it after 35 years to the ownership of the Albanian state, “Minister Balluku said.
Balluku said that the Thumanë-Kashar axis is one of the most important axis of the Blue Corridor and interconnection in the Western Balkans.
“We aim to open all the lots by 2020 to have them completed in the next 36 months,” Balluku said.
