TIRANA, May 25 /ATA/ – The eighth meeting of the IPARD II programme Monitoring Committee was held in Tirana focusing on accomplishments and challenges in implementing the IPARD funds in Albania.
The delegation from the Directorate‐General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission (DG AGRI) was headed by the DG AGRI Director Frank Bollen and Razvan Ghitescu, Program Officer for the Agricultural Sector at the EU Delegation to Albania.
In her remarks at the meeting, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Frida Krifca emphasised serious commitment of the authorities and bodies involved in implementation of the IPARDII programme, highlighting the laudable work that has been done in programme formulation, assessment of the applications, inspections actions and disbursement to the beneficiary farmers and agri-business enterprises.
Krifca pointed out the special importance of injecting European funds into Albanian agriculture.
The DG AGRI Director Frank Bollen put emphasis on the seriousness and the speed with this programme has been implemented in Albania.
Bolleno hailed implementation of the IPARD Programme in Albania as a success story at a regional level.
