TIRANA, May 17/ATA/ Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party Taulant Balla received today at the Presidency of the Assembly the Ambassador of France Elisabeth Barsacq.
Balla expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Barsaq for France supporting the enlargement process in the Western Balkans region and the positive attitude of President Emmanuel Macron to accelerate the enlargement process already imposed by the geopolitical context and Russian aggression against Ukraine.
“Holding the First Intergovernmental Conference with Albania and North Macedonia within the French Presidency of the Council of the EU is an important commitment which will give the necessary impetus to the European integration process,” said Balla.
Balla expressed gratitude for the agreement reached between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the French Development Agency, for a financial support based on policies for the support of gender equality which was passed in the Albanian Parliament only a few days ago.
Also during the meeting Balla stressed the importance of close cooperation between our parliaments in order to increase capacity and exchange experiences. /k.s/p.s./
