Dukat, modern fish processing facility thanks to IPARD support

TIRANA, April 29 /ATA/ Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, collection points and processing plants are being built across the country.

One of them is the fish processing facility in Dukat of Vlora, which thanks to the support of the IPARD program has managed to increase its capacity and today exports about 500 tons of fish, in accordance with all food safety standards for trade.

Prime Minister Rama, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, visited this collection point to see first-hand the investment made, as well as to present the new opportunities that entities in this sector have.

For Vlora, one of the future investments is the new fishing port. “We will build a modern fishing port. The procedures have been carried out, so we will move into high gear to build a spectacular thing. A large investment will be made in Triport. The ferries will be moved to another place. You will be managing the fishing port, while the state will provide support,” said Prime Minister Rama.
Another novelty of IPARD program is also the support for aquaculture.

“We have extended the time frame for applications for investments that will be made in the fleet, including engine repair, so you are welcome to apply to receive support for those investments that you need to repair the fleet. Meanwhile, in the IPARD III program, we have introduced aquaculture, which has not been before, so you have the opportunity to apply, Minister Krifca said.
The fisheries sector in the country is growing at fast pace, thanks to investments and special attention of the government through the IPARD program and ARDA.
