TIRANA, April 28 /ATA/ Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, held on Thursday in Tirana, an open discussion on the paradigm of agri-tourism development in Albania for the coming years.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, in her remarks, appreciated this discussion on the rural tourism and encouraged enterprises to work closely with policymakers in developing laws and policies that tap into the tremendous potential of this sector in Albania.
“We have gathered to discuss a document based on a very good analysis of the agri-tourism sector. There are some recommendations for specific interventions, which I think regulate the sector further, with the right emphasis on some issues that can be addressed through the right policies made available by MARD and MTM. “
She stressed that in terms of the regulatory framework, many steps have been taken forward that if properly embedded in the 10-year strategy we intend to develop, everything will be on the right track to consolidate this sector.
Srd program director at GIZ, Mattia Wegmann, said: “It is an important day as it is the first time we meet face to face as part of lengthy discussions for development of this sector. Agritourism is an emerging market. “It is important for us to make sure agritourism will have an impact on the rural population and the economic development.”
Agritourism units in recent years have become economic poles for the areas where they operate offering not only quality service to visitors but above all by revitalizing and validating the products of rural farmers.
