TIRANA, April 27 /ATA/- By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that currently we are about to conclude a significant part of the digital revolution and bring an end to corruption in services, tips and bribes.
At the informative event on the expansion of online services and the closure of counters, Rama said that “this is a marked day in the history of our administration.”
He cited two examples, that of the functioning of the system in General Directorate for Road Transport Services DPSHTRR and in the Civil Registry to illustrate the progress of service digitalization.
“One is the example of the General Directorate of Transport, which is a very significant source of information, and definitely, of experience, for this completely ground-breaking process that takes the administration from a machinery including offices, people, waiting rooms to an instrument at the service of every citizen, in the pocket, on the smartphone or on the nearest computer, “said Rama.
The Prime Minister said that here the meaningful example of such extraordinary transformation is the recognition of driving licenses by the Federal Republic of Germany.
“Before this process, it was unimaginable that the Federal Republic of Germany, which has the strictest rules in place in Europe, perhaps in the world, would recognize the driving licenses of the Republic of Albania, which were issued from an absolutely untraceable process. Of course in the whole process of issuing driving licenses there have certainly been a number of driving licenses that have been issued according to the rules just as there has been a considerable number of driving licenses that have been issued in breach of rules, which made it absolutely impossible to imagine that the Federal Republic of Germany would recognize the driving licenses of the Republic of Albania and anyone with a driving license obtained in the Republic of Albania could convert that document into a driving license of the Federal Republic of Germany”, said Rama.
The Prime Minister said that thanks to the progress brought about by the digital transformation, Germany recognized the driving licenses.
