Five abandoned residential buildings in Vlora get legalized

TIRANA, April 18 /ATA/ After many years of waiting, the residents of 5 buildings in the ‘Independence’ neighborhood, in Vlora have received the legalization certificate.

Attending the ceremony of handing over the ownership documents was Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj and Director of the Cadastre Office Artan Lame.

There are a total of 260 apartments and about 60 shops on which there was issued the legalization certificate, after many years of delays, because their investors had abandoned the building.

Ahmetaj said that, “We have discussed it several times and soon we will formalize it as a legal norm that the investors who have abandoned the buildings and have not served to the citizens according to the law, they in person and their companies will be prohibited from obtaining new construction permits from the municipalities, without first concluding the procedures with the residents for the building under construction”.

On his part, Director of the Cadastre Agency Lame said that, “We cannot let 100 people waiting in a single building because of an irresponsible investor, who later on goes on to obtain other building permits”.

The Regional Directorate of the Cadastre Agency has identified about 280 abandoned buildings in Vlora, built in the period 2000-2020./k.s/ /a.a/p.s./
