TIRANA, April 17 /ATA/ The Archbishop of Tirana and Durrës, the head of the Catholic Church in Albania, Monsignor Arjan Dodaj, wished the Catholic faithful today on the feast of Easter at Sunday Mass held in St. Paul’s Cathedral.
In his speech, Monsignor Dodaj also spoke about the war in Ukraine, emphasizing that “at Easter this year we become even more aware than in previous years of the distancing that is between the cries of joy proclaiming Christ is risen from the dead and the painful news of the war, about the refugees desperately fleeing their home country, the millions in a few weeks and who resonate another message, the bitter message of death ”.
“In the house of God there is no one who says I am better and he is less good than I am. Jesus tells you are all brothers, you have only one teacher, Christ, and one Heavenly God. Stripped of these feelings and categories that often come to our heart, mind and soul via social networks and media, and encouraged by the feelings of Jesus, who washes the feet of all disciples, then we too rise to the mindset of Christ resurrected this Easter, to make Easter, ” said Monsignor Dodaj.
Monsignor Dodaj went on saying that “Christ is the guarantor of human dignity in every situation and against every manifestation of evil. St. Gregory would underline: Another generation has appeared, another life, a change of our very nature. You are in this world, but you are not of this world. You are transient like everyone else, but for eternal life you are to give light, value, wealth, reconciliation and peace, not to claim this life, do not claim reconciliation from others, but be the reconciliation you claim. Do not apologize to others, but give the forgiveness you claim and understanding and you will see that the world around you is a completely different perspective.
