Archbishop Dodaj extends Easter greetings

TIRANA, April 16 /ATA/ – The metropolitan archbishop of Tirana-Durres, Monsignor Arjan Dodaj wished Albanians a happy Easter holiday on Saturday, as Catholic faithful in Albania and around the world prepare to celebrate Christ’s resurrection on Sunday.

In his Easter message, Monsignor Dodaj said that “the resurrection of the crucified has a power and significance to entire humanity and the whole world. Today we see Christ, who passed away crucified to save us, in many brothers and sisters, who are innocent victims of injustice, violence and war.”

“With Christ at Easter we see the great battle of mankind between life and death, between hope and despair, the temptation to surrender to evil, and the struggle for good,” Monsignor Dodaj added.

Easter, also called Pascha or Resurrection Sunday, is a festival and holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day after His burial following His crucifixion.
